DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co,, Waltham, Mass., Civil War era "P.S. Bartlett", 18 size, 11 jewels, key wind and set gilt plate movement, with lever escapement and steel balance, in an Am. Watch Co. sterling silver, hinged back and bezel, reeded edge, engine turned and engraved open face case, with Roman numeral white enamel dial, and blued steel fleur de lys, serial #79160, c1863
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dents; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case ; Engine turning / engraving with moderate wear; Bow worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Minor flakes in enamel, 1:00, 10:00; Minor flakes in enamel concealed by bezel; Minor flakes in enamel at center arbor. HANDS: Replaced minute, minor loss to blue on seconds. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches and scuff on plate; Gilt finish on plates dull and with minor discoloration. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
